Dear NOARK Members:

We will be voting on new membership definitions and dues structure at our November 11th meeting.

Background:

The membership definitions have been changed over the past 30 years to accommodate the changing needs of the chapter. With a membership of over 300 Human Resource professionals, it has become increasingly difficult to differentiate between the affiliate and regular members. Because we are affiliated with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), we thought it was only fitting to classify our membership categories based on SHRM membership. Therefore, NOARK will be proposing to eliminate the Regular and Affiliate membership definitions and replace with SHRM Member and Non-SHRM Member classifications.

In conjunction with the change in member classification, NOARK is also proposing a change to the dues structure. With everything else, the cost to provide great programs in a great location with a tasty meal has increased. To that end, NOARK will be proposing a new dues structure. We have worked diligently to keep the dues reasonable while ensuring we have the financial resources to bring you the programs and services you have come to expect.

Current structure:

Regular Member

Regular membership in the Chapter will be limited to those persons whose current professional employment and primary responsibilities are in the profession of Human Resources, or any who hold the HRCI certifications of PHR, SPHR, or GPHR. Annual dues = $65

Affiliate Members

Any person who does not qualify for Regular membership, but demonstrates to the Board of Directors a bona fide interest in Human Resources and the objectives of the Chapter, will be eligible for Affiliate membership. Annual dues = $95

Proposed structure:

SHRM Member

SHRM membership in the Chapter will be limited to those persons who have an active SHRM membership.

Non-SHRM Member

Non-SHRM membership will be limited to those persons who do not have an active SHRM Membership but have a bona fide interest in Human Resource Management.

  • SHRM Member - annually $65
  • Non-SHRM Member - annually $75

We believe that even with the changes in definitions and dues, our members are still getting a great value. NOARK will continue to offer great programs for HR related training and education including legislative updates and PHR/SPHR certification, career development and opportunities for networking.
