Job Summary

The Senior Compensation Administrator is responsible for the administration and communication of approved employee compensation programs for the enterprise. Provides direction as to the need for development and/or modification of compensation work processes. Oversees compensation survey participation and subsequent analysis/utilization of survey reports. Provides market and internal equity information for use in human resource initiatives, memos, presentations, or other compensation communications. Provides leadership on designated projects. Coaches and provides technical assistance to less experienced team members in specified compensation activities. Keeps abreast of state and federal compensation-related legislation, making recommendations to current company policies and practices as needed to ensure external competitiveness and compliance with all regulatory requirements


Detailed Job Description

Coaching/Technical Assistance: Provides coaching and technical assistance to less experienced HR team members in areas of expertise, Compensation Administration: Oversees administration of various compensation administration programs. These programs include but are not limited to pay changes as the result of merit increases, promotions, progressions and demotions; designated one-time bonus payments; allowances; job changes; establishment and updating of job profiles. Handles routine to complex issues submitted through Workday tickets, Compensation Communication: Develops and disseminates compensation-related communication for compensation initiatives, annual enterprise compensation programs, individual and targeted groups which support approved compensation programs, policies and company compensation philosophy, Compensation Surveys: Serves as a liaison between the organization and third-party compensation data providers and consultants. Oversees data collection and submission of company data in selected compensation surveys and subsequent analysis/utilization of survey reports, Data Analysis and Presentation: Provides market and internal equity information for use in human resource initiatives, memos, presentations, or other compensation communications. Makes recommendations based on the results of the analysis conducted, Legislative and Regulatory Compliance: Reviews compensation policies and practices; provides guidance and recommendations to ensure external competitiveness and compliance with all state and federal regulatory requirements, Performs other duties as needed, Project Management: Serves in a key leadership role on designated compensation-specific and more general HR initiatives and projects, System Processes: Identifies need to develop and/or modify compensation work processes. Serves as a key person in the testing of compensation-related processes as well as system upgrades. Collaborates with other Workday partners regarding processes jointly utilized by multiple HR areas and payroll to test impact and resulting value in their development and any modification

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Finance, Accounting or related field. In lieu of degree, five (5) years’ equivalent work experience in employee compensation, finance and payroll.
Five (5) years’ experience in the analysis, design, and administration of compensation programs.
Three (3) year’ administrative experience using a complex system technology (HRIS/Payroll). Workday human capital management system experience preferred.
Two (2) years’ experience in developing communication and presentation materials and delivery/presentation.
Thorough knowledge of state and federal wage & hour and other compensation legislation and record retention requirements.
Previous training experience required.
Proficient use of designated Microsoft software (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) required to include use of basic formulas, graphics, tables and charts.
Current professional certification required, preferably as a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP). Professional in Human Resources (PHR), Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) designation will be considered in light of other directly related work experience
