There is a lot of activity at the Capitol. Rumor has it that over 200 bills were filed on Monday. The deadline for filing bills is March 11, 2013 and we don’t expect the activity level to slow.
The voluntary veterans’ preference for private employers (HB 1575) developed by Thomas Dunlap and sponsored by Representative Sue Scott passed the House Committee today. The bill was well received by the House Committee and Thomas’ and Aaron Mankin’s testimony was very effective. We will continue to push this legislation through the process.
