We are pleased to welcome field representatives from the offices of Congressman Steve Womack, Senator John Boozman, and Senator Tom Cotton to our July NOARK meeting. Jeff Thacker, Hannah Henderson, and Chris Hoover will answer questions about how we as HR professionals can interact with our members of congress and how we can advocate for issues that affect our companies and our employees. Amy Fisher, MBA, SHRM-SCP, SPHR will moderate the panel discussion and we will leave time for you to ask questions at the end. Come prepared to learn how to make your voice heard in Arkansas and in Washington D.C

Amy Fisher is the Director of Human Resources, Risk Management & Government Relations; Title IX Co-Coordinator at John Brown University. Amy is active in the Northwest Arkansas Human Resources Association as Legislative Chair for 2020. She is serving as the Co-Chair for the 2020 Arkansas Human Resources Conference and Exposition. Amy has an MBA with an emphasis in Leadership and Ethics and is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and as a SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP).

SPEAKER: JEFFREY M. THACKER
Field Representative/Law Enforcement Coordinator
U.S. House of Representatives

Jeffrey M. Thacker, 52, is a native of Norman, Oklahoma.  After graduating from Norman High School in 1985, he attended the University of Oklahoma where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts-Journalism in 1989 with a minor in Political Science. 

 In 1993, Jeff moved to Northwest Arkansas where he pursued a career in newspapers with Community Publishers Inc. and Stephens Media Inc. for nearly 18 years.  In January of 2011, Jeff accepted a district staff position with newly elected Congressman Steve Womack, (AR-03).  Jeff continues to serve as Rep. Womack’s Field Representative and Law Enforcement Coordinator in Rogers, Ark. 

 Jeff is active in the community, having served on numerous boards and committees.  He is a 2005 graduate of Leadership Benton County and a member of both Rogers Noon Rotary and Rogers Noon Kiwanis.  He has served on the Board of Directors for the Northwest Arkansas Women’s Shelter and currently serves on the Advisory Board of the Northwest Arkansas Naturals Baseball Organization.  Jeff and his wife of 23 years, Jennifer Thacker, also enjoy volunteering across the region, with a personal service emphasis on the Saint Vincent DePaul Church Food Pantry-Rogers. 

 A popular public speaker in Northwest Arkansas, Jeff often addresses businesses, schools, and special groups on a regular basis.  Jeff is particularly proud of his younger brother, Jon Thacker, a retired and decorated Master Sergeant with 24 years of active-duty service in the United States Marine Corps.

SPEAKER: HANNAH HENDERSON

Hannah Henderson is the Northwest Arkansas Field Representative for United States Senator John Boozman. She is responsible for covering Benton, Washington, Crawford, Franklin, Madison and Carroll counties.  Hannah joined the office in May of 2019, immediately following graduation from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science. Hannah interned in the summer of 2018 for Senator Boozman in his Washington D.C. office which lead to her passion for public service and the political system. Hannah has lived in Northwest Arkansas all of her life and in her free time enjoys watching the Razorbacks or playing with her basset hound Charlie.

SPEAKER: CHRIS HOOVER

Chris Hoover is currently in his second year as the Northwest Arkansas Field Representative for United States Senator Tom Cotton. Born and raised in Van Buren, Chris received his Bachelor of Science in Emergency Management (Magna Cum Laude w/ Honors) from Arkansas Tech University in 2016. While at ATU he was heavily involved around campus and within the emergency management department. He quickly took on leadership roles across campus and at one point concurrently served as President of both Red Cross on Campus and the ATU chapter of the International Association of Emergency Managers. At the time of graduation, he was named an Arkansas Tech Pacesetter and a Who’s Who Among American College Students.

In 2017 Chris served as an intern for United States Senator John Boozman in Washington DC and additionally interned with Congressman Steve Womack in Fort Smith in 2017. He has volunteered with the Crawford County Department of Emergency Management where he developed and conducted several full scale multi-jurisdictional exercises, took on their social media, and completed a comprehensive update of the county emergency operations plan. He also was a realtor with Bradford & Udouj Realtors in Ft. Smith.

When not on the phone with an elected official or attending events in his 17-county coverage area, you can probably find him at home playing with his chocolate lab or in the woods enjoying the solitude of creation. He attends Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Van Buren.
