The Human Resource Generalist will be primarily responsible for the areas of outsourced payroll administration, Section 125 Cafeteria Plan administration, labor law and workplace compliance, benefits reporting, employee handbook maintenance, assisting with 403(b) retirement plan administration, HR recruiting, on boarding and terminations, HR related General Ledger entries/account reconciliations, and employee recognition, engagement, and development. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Finance & Administration and will coordinate and provide assistance as needed for other HR related duties.
Detailed Job Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
§ Maintain Isolved human resource employee database
§ Maintain updated Employee Handbook
§ Prepare, submit, proof, and post bi-weekly payrolls including corresponding PDO and retirement entries
§ Responsible for reconciling benefit invoices
§ Calculate and post monthly wage accruals and EOY payroll tax accruals
§ Serve as primary contact for staff and providers regarding benefit plans
§ Administer robust Section 125 Cafeteria Plan
· Medical/Dental/Vision/Disability Plans/Life Insurance & Flex Spending Accounts
§ Plan and conduct yearly Benefit Fair
§ Assist with new employee recruiting, onboarding & employee terminations
§ Plan and conduct the spring and fall PDO Buyback Program
§ Ensure legality & professionalism regarding employment policies and workplace regulations
§ Ensure compliance concerning Cafeteria Plan reconciliation, reporting, and notifications
· Flex Plan reconciliation/non-discrimination reporting/IRS-SSA-CMS Data Match
· Creditable Coverage/SPD/HIPAA/COBRA/SBC/CHPRA/WHCRA
· Social Security/DOL/verifications of employment/previous work history
§ Assist 403(b) Retirement Plan Administrator with enrollments/rollovers/loan administration/5500 reporting/notice reporting
§ Coordinate employee recognition & engagement
· Establish and chair the Employee Engagement Committee
· Coordinate birthday/professional day recognitions/employee anniversary recognition & awards
· Assist Executive Staff with yearly Founders Day and employee holiday celebrations
§ Work in Conjunction with the VP of Finance & Administration concerning:
· Yearly selection of benefit providers
· Benefits related RFP engagements
· Personnel matters
§ Provide administrative support to the VP of Finance & Administration concerning:
· Yearly Workers Compensation audits
· Employee reporting portion of yearly Financial Audit
· HR related data gathering for grant submissions and reporting
OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
§ Maintain Welfare Benefit Plan Binder and Compliance Checklist
§ Maintain Summary Plan Descriptions
§ Obtain Yearly Business Associate Agreements from applicable health partners
§ Coordinate yearly performance reviews and form maintenance
§ Research and schedule ongoing employee trainings
· Security, safety, technology, communication, etc.
§ Maintain Summary of Benefits document
§ Administer Employee Assistance Program
§ Maintain HR procedure sheets
§ Order meals for All Staff luncheons and other pertinent meetings.
§ Other duties as required by VP of Finance & Administration

Hope Cancer Resources employs a highly professional staff which includes licensed oncology social workers, a Spanish interpreter and certified health education specialists. Our team is passionate about providing help and education to families in Northwest Arkansas through our various programs.
Our transportation service is designed to provide patients with safe and reliable transportation to and from their cancer-related appointments as needed.
Financial assistance is provided for prescription medications, nutritional supplements, gas cards and everyday living expenses. Our goal is to help alleviate some of the financial stress patients and their families may face.
Believing emotional support is essential for healthy survivorship, we offer this service ranging from a kind word or listening ear to individual, couples or family counseling sessions with a licensed oncology social worker. Hope Cancer Resources also provides emotional support in group settings.
In addition, Hope Cancer Resources impacts the community by providing free cancer screenings and cancer prevention education. This education includes tobacco cessation and prevention, promoting healthy lifestyles and other means to reduce the risk of cancer.
In 2017, we launched our Wellness Center for Hope to promote wellness and healthy living in cancer survivors and caregivers. Our desire is to enhance the quality of life in survivors and caregivers by restoring physical activity, optimizing nutrition and healthy weight, and developing healthy behaviors and lifestyles.
The programs of Hope Cancer Resources are funded in part through grants from the Cancer Challenge, Susan G. Komen – Ozark Affiliate, the Walmart Foundation, Arkansas Cancer Coalition, Delta Dental of Arkansas Foundation, Northwest Arkansas Medical Auxiliary, UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute Auxiliary, the Hope Cancer Resources Foundation and corporate and individual donations.
§ Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration (Accounting), and/or 7 years relevant work experience required.
§ Human Resource, Accounting and/or Payroll experience required.
§ Preferred to hold an appropriate HR certification or be willing to pursue a SHRM certification.
§ Proficient with Microsoft Office, highly proficient in Excel and be comfortable with various computer technologies.
§ Non-profit organization experience a plus
