SB 60 Workers’ Compensation Commission Appropriation

The House did not consider this Workers' Compensation Commission operations appropriation yesterday and it is on Monday’s House Calendar.

SB 139 Lieutenant Governor Vacancy

The House passed Senate Bill 139 by Sen. Eddie Joe Williams, R-Cabot, yesterday by a vote of 76 to 10. This bill would allow the governor not to call a special election to fill a vacancy in the lieutenant governor’s office when the vacancy occurs within 10 months of a general election in which the office would be filled, if the governor determines that holding a special election is impractical because of the timing of the vacancy.

 CANDIDATE FILING

The candidate filing period continues until noon on Monday, March 3.  So far, 20 state legislative races will have a Primary Election and 23 will have a contested General Election.
