Alex will help you to better understand the new 2020 Federal W-4. He will talk about the FLSA White Collar Overtime Exemption Rule that took effect January 1, 2020 and cover what makes an employee exempt. He will touch on the Arkansas minimum wage. It increased January 1, 2020 and has one more scheduled increase for next year. There will be a discussion on some DOL Wage and Hour Opinion Letters for 2019/2020 that we will also touch on. 

You will get an EEOC Update, in particular, the cases on gender identity and sexual orientation, and their coverage under Title VII, awaiting decision by the Supreme Court, and also touch on some EEOC enforcement statistics. 

There will be a brief mention of the Arkansas recreational marijuana constitutional amendment proposal that is circulating and what that means for the workplace.

We will talk about the Final Rule the DOL issued on joint employers.

Alex will also touch on Pandemic Protocols.

Alexander D. Clark received his Juris Doctor from UALR’s Bowen School of Law in May 2017, graduating magna cum laude, and his Bachelor’s in Marketing from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville in May 2008. While in law school, Alexander received numerous Top Paper Awards for a variety of subjects, including Decedents Estates, Federal Income Taxation, and Public International Law. His areas of practice with the Firm include civil litigation, employment management, and wage and hour law.
