Greetings,

I am very proud to announce that NOARK has received the 2012 SHRM Silver Excel award.  This award was for the chapter’s strategic vision in 2012 to serve the networking and professional development needs of human resource professionals and to the advancement of the human resources profession.

 NOARK has continued the strategic vision in 2013 with an added challenge to provide the best possible value to our membership.  Here’s just a few of the ways we are making that happen.   

We want NOARK members to have the latest information on HR matters so we continue to offer great HRCI certified programs including our June presenter,  Artee Williams, Director of the Department of Workforce Services. We are also striving to make sure NOARK members are “in the know” on all legislative matters with the NOARK Legislative Blog and the Legislative spotlight at each monthly meeting.   NOARK members are subject matter experts in HR; therefore, we feel a responsibility to educate the community and legislators on HR related topics.   We accomplish this goal by providing an article in the Northwest Arkansas Times each Sunday on an HR related topic and by providing special sessions to our members including the June’s Advocacy in Action session. Also, our College Relations committee provides the resources and opportunities to future HR professionals.

We also add value by recognizing how important time management is to our members so we are consistently looking for ways to allow our members to work smarter, not harder.   Some of the things we have done to add value in this area are:  Providing the auto-fill feature on the NOARK Wage and Benefits survey, ensuring the information on www.NOARK.org is current and video options are available to learn about the different committees, and by offering several different opportunities to gain HRCI certification.

The resource that provides the most value is you, the NOARK member.  Thank you for your support and involvement.  You have helped us earn SHRM’s SuperStar Chapter status for the 4th consecutive month!
