President's Message

Welcome to NOARK, the Northwest Arkansas Human Resources Association. Whether you are one of our long term members, new to our organization, or simply exploring what we have to offer, I am excited to share our plans for 2012. Our organization is a dynamic HR group whose mission is to advance the profession and serve the professional. NOARK accomplishes this by focusing on what matters to our members. We know one of the most important aspects is our monthly meetings. This year, our Board of Directors and Committee Chairs are committed to providing exciting monthly programs to keep HR professionals on the cutting edge of our ever changing environment. We are also planning to provide new and unique networking opportunities for our members to bounce ideas off one another, form a mentorship, or simply to find a place to discuss common issues. Lastly, we will continue to be a positive force within our community.

I am excited to be part of such a great organization. I have been working in the human resources field for the past 10 years. I began my career with a large company in the Northeast and moved to Northwest Arkansas 6 years ago where I currently lead the HR team for a local manufacturing company. I discovered NOARK shortly after I moved to Northwest Arkansas. Since I moved here without knowing anyone, I was looking for a place to learn about the local landscape and meet other HR professionals to share ideas and discuss common issues. NOARK was just the place. The monthly meetings enriched my knowledge and exposed me to areas of the HR field that were new to me. I was also introduced to some of the “great HR minds” in NWA that continue to help me with even the most challenging situations. After gaining so much from NOARK in the first couple of years, I wanted to give back by volunteering on the Programs Committee. The next year, I was fortunate to be nominated to the VP role which has led me to my current role as President. I know that the networking and knowledge gained through NOARK has played a role in advancing my career.

2012 is ramping up to be another great year for NOARK. If you’re one of our new or long term members, I would like to thank you for your participation. I also want to encourage you to get involved and share your ideas because you are the lifeblood of our organization. If you’re considering membership, I hope you will join and take advantage of all of our great benefits. If you ever have a question or suggestion, please feel free to contact me or anyone else on our Board. We look forward to seeing you and are excited to serve you this year!

Sincerely,

Tracey Kenny, SPHR
