The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) is the world’s largest association devoted to human resource management. Representing more than 275,000 members in over 160 countries, the Society serves the needs of HR professionals and advances the interests of the HR profession. Founded in 1948, SHRM has more than 575 affiliated chapters within the United States and subsidiary offices in China, India and United Arab Emirates.

SHRM has more than 575 affiliate chapters both in the United States and abroad, and provide additional programming and networking opportunities in your local area. SHRM chapters are autonomous organizations, so it is not automatic that you will be a member of your local chapter when you join SHRM at the national level, and vice versa.

Membership in a SHRM affiliated chapter (NOARK) means access to a local network of HR professionals, as well as professional development programs, products, and services in your community that can broaden your skills and make you more valuable to your organization. We have created a list of some of the benefits of being a member of NOARK here. There are resources and services through SHRM that local chapters cannot possibly duplicate, and there are resources through NOARK that SHRM can’t provide. Maximize your opportunities by becoming a member of SHRM and NOARK.

Monthly Meetings are a meeting featuring workshops and programs on relevant and timely HR topics. This allows members to increase their knowledge in functional areas and to grow as a professional. This is also a great time to meet your peers and form professional relationships with others in the Northwest Arkansas region. The cost for a member to attend a Monthly Meeting is $25.00.

Monthly Meetings are typically submitted for HR Certification.

All memberships are due at the beginning of the calendar year, regardless of your join date. Memberships expire 12/31 of the current year.

No. NOARK is an individual membership organization. It has no corporate or institutional memberships. For individuals paying U.S. taxes, NOARK annual dues are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes, but may be deductible as ordinary and necessary business expenses.

Two of the best ways to become more involved are by volunteering or by speaking at one of our Membership Meetings. We have several volunteer opportunities available, ranging from helping to plan our annual conference to serving on a committee. Fill out our Volunteer Sign-Up form, and we'll get in touch with you about how you can help.

If you'd like to speak at one of our Membership Meetings, check out our Presenters page to learn more or fill out the Speaker Sign-Up form. We look forward to working with you!
