The Future Of HR: What’s Next for the Profession?
For most organizations today, the business focus has shifted from short-term survival to long-term sustainability as the U.S. and global economy continue to recover slowly from the 2008-2009 recession. Achieving sustainability will be a true test of HR leadership in the uncertain economy ahead. In this presentation, you will explore four major challenges HR professionals are facing today and a two-part strategy for turning the challenges into opportunities for your organization. In addition, you will look at a case study of Deloitte LLP, where the strategies have brought impressive bottom-line results, as well as employee retention, engagement, and productivity.
Speaker: Pamela Green
Pamela J. Green is a champion for HR Professionals. A business leader herself for over 25 years, with 16 of those years spent leading Human Resources departments. She pulls on these experiences in everything she sets her heart and mind to do - especially when conducting presentations and writing. Pam just published her first book, a career roadmap for human resource professionals on how to thrive as a 21st century HR Leader titled Lead, Achieve and Succeed in HR.
Before going into Association Management where she served as Vice President for Membership for the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), Pamela served as the top HR Leader in organizations such HeadStart and the American Red Cross, and served as a business leader in a variety of roles in the healthcare field. She also holds both a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Human Resources and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio where she was born and raised.
SHRM is the world’s largest association devoted to serving the human resource professional and advancing the human resource profession. SHRM’s mission is to be the global HR professional association that will provide thought leadership, education, and research to human resource professionals, media, government, non-governmental organizations, businesses and academic institutions to share expertise and create innovative solutions on people management issues.
Pam considers herself a “dabbler” in social media, a “lightweight” blogger, and has she been quoted by local and national publications. Pamela has served the community in many capacities including serving on a host of boards and speaking across the country at national events. Now residing in the beautiful city of Bowie, Maryland she prefers to spend her down time with her husband, son and their pet Boxer, Sasha!
After the meeting, Pam will be available to sign copies of her book, Lead, Achieve, and Succeed in HR. Are you prepared for today's HR challenges? Addressing these issues and many more requires a new approach to HR and a new way of managing our careers. Working in HR in the 21st Century will require every human resource professional to be innovative, influential, and an architect of win-win outcomes. This book not only will address these challenges but will also help you re-focus your career, re-invent yourself and renew your commitment to your employer and to your career in HR.
